I say good-bye to your body
by Siomara España. Translated by Alexis Levitin.
from The Return of Lolita
I say good-bye to your body,
to your eyes, to your hands,
to the old bed and its booming,
I say good-bye to the fevers,
the echoes of my bones in your hands,
and to your hungry teeth.
I say good-bye because its early,
because I still can hear your moans,
because the wounds of your kisses are bleeding all over,
because I still am digging up nostalgia for your body.
Because if I don't leave…
we could be happy
