Amsterdam
by Chris O'Carroll
Yes, I remember Amsterdam.
I think I do, but maybe not.
I know there was some city where
I scored some truly righteous pot.
The streets flowed by like waterways,
And red-light babes in windows struck
Poses that unequivocally
Proclaimed, "Tonight, gents, you're in luck."
My buzzing brain cells told me I
Was fluent suddenly in Dutch.
I spoke bilingual cosmic truths,
Of which I can't remember much.
I lit up in a coffeeshop --
A new Big Bang in every gram.
Do I remember this, or did
I just imagine Amsterdam?
