A Riddle
by Daniel G. Hoffman
I am the chink between two voids.
I clasp both ends of an endless chain.
Who knows me knows there is no repose—
I come once, and then never again.
I burst the webs of all men’s cunning,
None can hold me, and none detain me,
None can preserve me, none restrain me.
I am end, I am beginning.
